The Impressions Dance Studio offers all levels and dance disciplines for our recreational dancers. We offer small class sizes to ensure your child receives the attention to allow them to grow and learn in a positive environment. We pride ourselves on our trained and professional staff and attention to teaching the proper technique to our students. Students may choose the number of classes they commit to per week and what type of dance they would like to study. Recreational classes perform in a holiday review as well as a spring recital. Please see the class descriptions to find the dance classes that will best meet your needs.
No acro or dance experience required. Introduced to basic acro skills (somersaults, handstands, crab walks, etc.) Props and obstacles are used to help students with musicality and creative movement. This is a 30 minute class.
1 year of ballet training recommended. Will be introduced to lyrical movement with variations across the floor, small combinations, and expressive movement. This is a 45 minute class.

Faster than pre-ballet but still designed for the beginner dancer. Students will learn the Barre and Center work as well as introduction to jumps, leaps, and turns combined with dance combinations. This is a 30 minute class.
For dancers with 1-2 years of ballet experience. Will be introduced to a more technical barre warm up and intricate center work, as well as combinations. This is a 45 or 60 minute class.
Minimum of 3-4 years of ballet experience. Will work at the barre, center, combinations, and pointe prep. Dancers ready for pointe will get permission from the instructor. This is a 60-90 minute class.
Will be introduced to basic jazz terminology and steps. Dancers will do center combinations to work on turns, leaps and jumps. They will also work across the floor and learn short jazz combinations. Intermediate will continue to learn new leaps, turns, and jazz combinations. This is a 30-45 minute class.
Minimum 3 year of jazz experience. Will continue to learn intermediate to advanced jazz steps and terminology.Will do combinations to work on turns, leaps, and jumps as well as across the floor and short jazz dances. This is a 45 minute class.
Will introduce basic acro skills (somersaults, handstands, bear crawls, etc.). Students will also be introduced to basic jazz dance moves and work on musicality as well as flexibility. This is a 30 minute class.
Minimum of 1 year experience in acro. Cartwheels, handstands, walkovers, round offs, chest stands, handsprings, and aerials are some of the skills introduced and mastered in this class. This is a 45 minute class.
Minimum of 2 years experience in acro. Combination tumbling, aerials, front aerials, handsprings, and back tucks are some of the skills introduced in this class. This is a 45 minute class.
No hip hop experience needed. Basic hip hop moves will be covered as well as basic stunts, stalls, and jumps.
Dancers should have basic musicality. This is a 30 minute class.
Minimum 2 years hip hop experience. Will learn more advanced hip hop moves, stunts, stalls, and jumps. Strong
musicality and hip hop terminology knowledge. This is a 45 minute class.
Dancers will learn advanced hip hop moves, stunts and stalls. Will learn combinations to fast paced music, so strong musicality and hip hop terminology is necessary. This is a 45 minute class and will compete in 3-4 regional competitions.
Dancers with minimum to no tap experience. Will learn basic tap terminology/steps, work across the floor, be introduced to short combos, and expand knowledge of musicality. This is a 30 minute class.
Dancers with a minimum of one year of tap experience. Continue to expand their terminology, and work on more difficult steps and combinations. This is a 30 minute class.
For dancers continuing to improve their skills. Will begin to learn harder steps to faster music. Should have great musicality to be in this class. This is a 45 minute class

Musical Theatre Competition Line
To help strengthen dancers turns, leaps, and jumps, and be introduced to new skills. Will learn exercises and stretches to help with flexibility and core strength. Basic ballet and jazz terminology knowledge recommended. This is a 45 minute class.
For dancers wanting to expand and improve their technique and flexibility, as well as strengthen their leaps and turns. Will learn stretches and exercises to work on flexibility and core strength. Prior ballet and jazz experience required. This is a 45 minute class.
